Q is for I couldn't Quite find anything beginning with Q, so lets move Quickly on.
R is for all things rosy. Up top lets begin with the dreaded Rosemary Beetle. I was delighted when I first spotted it, because look, it's so pretty. But then I discovered it is not something you want in your garden. We try not so squash things (sorry, vine weevils) so they got carried to the park.
I find that I didn't take a photo of my solitary rose bush in flower but this is how it looks this morning. Mum grew it from a cutting from one of hers. It got badly attacked by sawfly larvae last summer and I chopped it back but it seems to have recovered fine. When I went out to take this photo I realised it also has aphids (like the acer trees) so that's a job for tomorrow after work:
And a quick shout out about Rosybee who I found last summer through an advert in Gardener's World. They specialise in plants for pollinators and their website has lots of stuff about how to help out the insects in your garden. This is my new batch of lovely plants I now have to find spaces for:
Linking back to the A to Z challenge.
Stay safe. Be kind. Order some new plants😊
Rosybee sounds interesting. It's lovely to have a fresh crop of plants to find homes for.
